MAPC Commissions

With the unanimous consent and on the advice and direction of the Leaders Congress, the Maritime Aboriginal Peoples Council will plan, conduct and make report on specific subjects of significance to the traditional ancestral homelands Aboriginal Peoples. These “Commissions” usually involve several meetings within different hamlets, villages, towns, or cities throughout the Maritimes, or can centralize a meeting consisting of ten to fifty representatives of each Member Council.

These commissions are a very effective way to gather a large range of views from the traditional ancestral homelands Aboriginal Peoples, and also serve as one vehicle to raise awareness about important topics, and help to build regional solidarity and focus of the advocacy.

Recent Commission Reports will be listed in the Publications section of this web site.
